About Dr. Naqvi

Dr. Naqvi’s academic and professional journey began in upstate New York. He earned his BS from the University at Albany with a focus on Neurobiology, Psychology, and Criminal Justice. He attended medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and completed his residency at Emory University in Atlanta. His deep interest in the nexus of law and mental health led him to a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University.

Dr. Naqvi continues to contribute to the field of psychiatry with his comprehensive clinical practice and scholarly dedication. Currently, he holds a position as a Clinical Instructor at the Yale School of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry. Additionally, he provides psychiatric care in two notable institutions — as an Attending Psychiatrist within the New York City Health and Hospitals network and as a Forensic Psychiatrist for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

His dedication and passion for psychiatry have led to several honors, awards, and certifications. Most notably, he received the Rappeport Fellowship, a prestigious honor awarded by the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. This recognition underscores his profound contributions to the intersecting arenas of psychiatry and law.

Dr. Naqvi's dedication to patient care and clinical acumen was also acknowledged during his residency at Emory University, where he was appointed as a Chief Resident of Outpatient and Psychotherapy. This role allowed him to work as an administrator in a complex health system and help set the standard for outpatient care and therapeutic approaches.

As with the multifaceted nature of his practice and teaching roles, Dr. Naqvi's commitment to psychiatry continues to be dynamic, evolving, and primarily focused on upholding the well-being of his patients.
